Mental health is serious business, but there’s no reason you can’t have some fun while looking after your wellbeing! Kick off the New Year with our list of exciting mental health and wellness events taking place around Los Angeles. From group activities to self-care workshops, these events will help promote well-being for yourself and your loved ones. We’ll update this list monthly, so make sure to check in and see what other events may be available.

Disability Drawing Club

The Disability Drawing Club holds space for people with disabilities, chronic illness, and mental illness. In this casual meetup, we bond, vent, and commiserate about our shared experiences. Simultaneously, it allows us to be unapologetic about our bodies, and broadens representation of disabled people in drawing. This safe space welcomes people who identify as disabled, chronically ill, mentally ill, and their caretakers. The club is centered around drawing prompts that open discussions about our health and wellness!

Take Action for Mental Health – Los Angeles Department of Mental Health

Join Take Action at the Santa Monica Pier for “Take Action for Mental Health,” presented by the LA County Department of Mental Health. Against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, join influencers, professionals, and local resources for a transformative day of mental wellness. Engage in interactive workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities to empower your mental well-being journey. Discover tools, support, and strategies to make a difference in your community. LAOP’s Community Support Group: Supporting LGBTQIA+ Mental Health

Join us for our monthly Community Support Group sessions, hosted by the Los Angeles Outpatient Center (LAOP). This is a series of free-to-attend events that offer a caring and secure environment where any member of the public can come together to share experiences, offer support, and create meaningful connections with others. BIPOC Mental Health Support Group at Little Pot

Join Insula Collective’s Support Groups which are tailored for the BIPOC community. Enjoy a 1.5-hour session dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive space for individuals of color to share, connect, and support one another. (Location: Los Angeles)

LA! Pride Parade

Join the fun for LA Pride! The largest and longest-running Pride Parade in Southern California! 

Over 148,000 LA Pride family, friends, and fans came out last year to cheer the iconic LGBTQ+ procession down Hollywood Blvd. This year, they’re planning even more fun and celebration with extra performances, music, and celebrity surprises.

SafeLUV Guided Journaling Night

Transforming Community Care: AANHPI LGBTQIA2-s Mental Health and Wellness

Join the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center to celebrate the health and wellbeing of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, two-spirit (LGBTQIA2-s) community. There will be free food, performances, speakers and a panel of community members and experts who will be discussing culturally inclusive and community-based practices in fostering a community of care. Richstone Family Center is hosting a FREE Community Wellness and Resource Fair on Saturday, May 4 to promote Mental Health Month and LA County’s Take Action LA for Mental Health campaign. 


This FREE event will feature workshops for all ages (children and adults) focused on promoting physical and mental health alongside information booths, art activities, zumba, food, and live entertainment. The hope is that attendees will gain a greater awareness of the tools needed to be healthy both physically and emotionally, and knowledge of how to navigate available community resources.

Organized by the Chamber’s Health & Wellness Committee, this fun outdoor event offers access to learn more about the numerous resources available to keep our community healthy and well. This free community event brings together well over 300 guests including local families, youth, seniors and community leaders. 


60 participating vendor booths are lined up to showcase a diverse offering of top-quality health and wellness resources and organizations with special event giveaways, health and wellness information, health screenings and more to increase awareness about their services and resources. The Health & Wellness Fair not only raises awareness of these organizations and how they serve the community, it provides a fun and unique opportunity for social interaction and personal connection.
