Just because Mental Health Awareness Month is over, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a ton of fun wellness events to attend in the Los Angeles area. Whether you want to support a loved one or are looking for community yourself, there are plenty of mental health events to check out in Los Angeles. Here are a few events that support health and wellness to add to your calendar. We’ll update this list monthly, so make sure to check in and see what’s new.
Mental Health Mondays
Every Monday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm:
Mental Health Mondays with Dr. Makeda Moore is a collaboration with Sole Folks, bringing mental wellness to Leimert Park through a weekly seminar to reduce stress through open dialogue and meditation.
Each session will include grounding exercises to promote a sense of peace, safe space to process life’s stressors in a constructive manner, practical tips to nurture mental health, as well as guided meditation with sound bowl healing. Learn more here.
Women Who Care About Mental Health 2nd Annual Event
Saturday, Dec 3rd from 9:30 to 11:30 am
Calling all “Women Who Care About Mental Health.” Join Hope Gatekeepers, a nonprofit organization that serves to educate the community about mental health awareness and suicide prevention, for a morning of sweet breakfast & networking with mental health supporters. Guest speaker Edith Mejia will speak about mental health tips for us, loved ones, and our community. Wellness is a Right Festival & Holiday Shopping

The full day experience will combine activities, healing modalities and discussions rooted in a holistic approach to wellness. Safety and Crisis Prevention and Intervention

Jacob Joseph and Jabez Family Counseling and Professional Services Group is offering a fun, interactive and informative training for all levels of service providers. This training will review components pertinent to safety practices and crisis intervention/prevention practices. Common issues associated with providing mental health services in street-based outreach to the unhoused community, home visits, and urban communities are to be covered. Also included are best practices for personal space awareness, situational awareness, exploring the different stages of a crisis, warning signs, risk assessment, decision-making, communication, and the appropriate interventions to use during each crisis stage. Self Love 101 with Reetu Walia

Reetu Walia is a Self-Love Coach, and founder of The School Of Zero: A platform to create awareness about the significance of Self-Love in the prevention of Mental Health & Emotional problems. She has coached over 450 attendees at her workshops across California, New York and Mumbai. Reetu’s mission is to build a Self-Love community with a MIND-set to Live Fully. Beach Walk & Sketch

For a peaceful morning on the beach, bring your sense of wonder and take to the sands to sketch nature’s offerings on Santa Monica’s beautiful coastline. Binoculars, drawing boards, pencils, and newsprint will be provided.
