Yami Rivas, LMFT

Primary Therapist

Yami holds a Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy and has been practicing as a therapist for a decade. She adopts an eclectic approach, tailoring her methods to suit the individual needs and circumstances of her clients. Her toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, and Structural Family Therapy. Over the years, Yami has worked with adults, families, couples, adolescents, and children, helping them navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief/loss, trauma, substance abuse, ADHD, and life transitions.  

 With experience in community mental health agencies, forensics (Bureau of Prisons), and private practice, Yami has honed her skills in working with a culturally diverse population. Yami is deeply committed to supporting others on their journey to mental health and wellness. She recognizes the daily struggles and unexpected stressors that people face. Yami approaches her work with a trauma-informed lens and utilizes a strength-based approach, empowering her clients to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Yami is also fluent in Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse range of clients.  

 Outside of her professional life, Yami enjoys playing softball and loves salsa dancing and kickboxing. She also cherishes spending time with her family, nieces, and nephews.
